Annuals plan June tour

Indie rockers Annuals [ tickets ] have a new EP on the streets and they'll showcase material from the set during a short jaunt across North America this summer. The Raleigh, NC-based group, which played California's Coachella Festival last weekend, will be back on the West Coast to launch the outing June 4 in Phoenix. So far, Annuals have 10 cities on their itinerary, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Toronto and Brooklyn, NY. Details are listed below. While the band works on its sophomore album, it's tiding fans over with the "Wet Zoo" EP, which surfaced earlier this month. The five-song set is actually a split EP with three Annuals tunes and an introduction to the band members' side project Sunfold. The Annuals' lead track, "Sore," is streaming at its MySpace page. The group's forthcoming full-length record is due this fall via Canvasback Records. It will follow Annuals' 2006 debut, "Be He Me," which earned the sextet critical acclaim, a huge online following, and slots on popular festivals including Lollapalooza.Three of Annuals' members--Adam Baker (vocals/multi-instrumentalist), Kenny Florence (lead guitar/backing vocals) and Mike Robinson (bassist/backing vocals)--started playing together almost 10 years ago while they were still in grade school, according to the band's bio. The lineup was solidified in 2005 with Zack Oden (drums/guitar), Donzel Radford (drums/percussion) and Anna Spence (keyboard/piano/backing vocals). The young musical collective has stretched the boundaries of what it means to be a band, with each member heading his or her own side project with all of the same musicians, but in different roles.
